Make Subreport Function Like Main Report

P: n/a
I know this is kind of a weird question, but is there anyway to give a
subreport control of a main report?

I posted my situation earlier about having drawings print out after a
group. I have a report grouped by part group that lists the part
numbers needed from that group. I have force new page after each
group. This gives me a list of parts on each page. I want to print
the needed drawings after the groups/list of parts. There are 2 needed
drawings for some of the parts.

My subreport looks like this:

Drawing1
(----Page Break----)
Drawing2

That prints 2 drawings for the needed part. This works fine alone, but
this doesn't work when I place it in the main form. I placed this
subreport in part group footer. All I get is the first drawing (not
second) for the first part of each group. From what I have read, page
breaks in subreports don't work. I've tried changing the CanGrow
property.

Following a suggestion on this group, I was able to get this to work by
making the drawing report the main report and the part list the
subreport in the group header. This works great, but now I have a
bunch of empty pages because it is printing 2 drawings for every part.
Most parts don't have drawings. I can't filter out the values in the
drawing/main report that are empty because it has control over
subreport. If I do this, I don't get the part numbers in the subreport
because they are linked to the main report. I want the whole subreport
to show no matter what. My question-is there a way to make the
subreport control the main report? That probably isn't possible, but I
would appreciate any alternative suggestions. I would switch the
subreport and main report, but I can't get the page breaks to work in
the subreport or make the subreport expand at all. Any help would be
appreciated.

I have been able to have a subreport expand to multiple pages, but I would like to be able to force a page break at a certain point on the page, which I have not yet figured out.
