Is there an alternative line of code for saving a

DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, acSaveRecord, , acMenuVer70

???

That is ancient code kept alive only by the wizards. Use either...

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord

....or...

Me.Dirty = False
