Printing to receipt/serial printer from access

Hi,

Has anybody here tried to hook up a serial printer (receipt printer like
those used in shops) to access? can ti be done though windows using reports
in access to generate a receipt then print? What I was wondering is how long
it would take for the data to be sent to the serial printer?

I have not tried a serial printer in a long long time. however, most of
those small "slip" printers are usually Epson compatible.

So, just choose a Epson printer, or even a text printer.
What I was wondering is how long it would take for the data to be sent to
the serial printer?

Hum, the above seems like strange questions. On a decent machine, printing
one page to laser printer have VERY little delay, so this should not be a
problem at all.

Remember, if you choose a dot matrix printer, then try and use native
printer fonts (non true type), as they print fast.

And, of couse, check out the manufactors site of the product, as they often
have all kinds of supprot, and helpfull notes...
