Strange query behaviour on different machines

Hello,

I have a fairly simple database. NOT a FE/BE situation.
Just 1 mdb residing on a server that is accessed by different machines.

On 1 machine a query (and the report based on it) work just fine,
On the other machine (opening the exact same file) the query does not make a
simple calculated field....which is simply concating some text fields
([LastName] & "," &[FirstName]& " - "&[City])

Any ideas why this would be different from machine to machine.
I checked references and none are marked as MISSING.

Thanks,
Mal.

This seems odd indeed but,
I guess you simply open the mdb which resides on the server? You use Access on the local machine?

More info please like:
Are there different versions of Access on the local machines ??
Different OS ?

The MDB is on the server.
Each machine uses its local version of access.
Machines are both win 98 running Office 2000....same version of Access.

Seems very strange. You will have to narrow this down further.
Maybe there is an issue with different user-permissions on the server ???
-- Copy the mdb to both local machines.
-- Test if the local mdb functions allright.

I don't have a real clue !
Logically one could think about permissions, but what you describe is another story ?
