Counter

Hi all, i am a total newbie to this game and have a tblCounter with a
field of counter that i need to incriment by one when a certain form is
opened, please could somebody come to my assistance

I don't know your exact set up from that description but I'll assume you
have a table with the following fields: FormName & Counter.

In a form you'd have a OnOpen event procedure, e.g.

Sub Form_Open(Cancel as integer)
' next line might wrap in newsreader
currentdb.execute "update tblCounter set counter=counter+1 where
FormName='" & me.name & "'"
End sub
