Status Bar Text Not Working

A2003. I have one form for which the status bar text property for any
control does not work. It functions as expected for all other forms.
I've copied the form over a couple of times and I still can't get the
text to display on the status bar.

Any ideas of what might suppress operation of status bar text? I've
tried looking for some property, perhaps some VBA code and can't come up
with anything that would result in this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you tried the SaveAsText / LoadFromText trick?

Just did, thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't help me.

What I just found was minimizing the form, then maximizing it corrects
the problem. However, this only works if the database window is
visible. If it is not, the weird behaviour of status bar text not
displaying persists.

Well, I'll be twitterpatted... !

It turns out that waht caused this behaviour was the fact that I had a
modal and pop up form calling the form in question. Once the form in
question had loaded, a docmd.close in the button from the modal/pop up
form closed the modal/popup. The status bar text then refused to work
on the form in question.

When I removed the modal property of the modal/popup form, the problem
went away.

A2003 really ticks me off sometimes.

Thanks for the update!

There's something I'll have to stuff into memory... I don't do a lot
of work in A2003, nor with pop-up forms, but I do from time to time, so
it's good to know.
