Missing text when Publishing Reports from Access to Word

I have a strange environment where my MDE is being executed
by both Access 2002 and 2003.

I have a report, which was designed in 2003, with several
calculated fields. It looks like:

<Address Header stuff>

<Salutation>

<Blah, blah, blah>

Name of physician: <physician name>
Phone Number: <Phone>

<Blah, ...>

<User Name as ComboBox>

When I run this report in either version, it displays and
prints correctly. However, when I import from Access 2002
into Word, I lose the <Phone Number> field. Just gone! It
displays correctly in 2003, though.

I checked alignments and made sure there weren't any field
overlaps. It just plain disappears.

Any guesses?

I found a quirky work-around. I put an unbound blank Text
Box after the field that disappears, and it forces it to
appear in both 2002 and 2003. Very Strange!
