need to append leading digit to field

I have a large database of upc codes. The original program chopped off
the leading digit from the code, and the string is now stored as text.
Anyone know of a good way to add a single digit to the beginning based
on a search query?

ie in field
field 1 field 2
1111122222 amg sling

I know that the amg sling should have a 7 infront of the string, how
can I search for amg* and add a 7 to all matches?

Thanks very much
Jeff

umm... an update query?

UPDATE mytable
SET myField="7" & myfield
WHERE field2 LIKE "amg*";
