I have set up the database so when someone adds a record it is stamped
with the current date and time (field in the table)--routine thing.
Through my coding I am not allowing people to add entries for three
days ago and back (current date minus three days). But they have
found a way around it, by changing the date on their PCs.
Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this?
You could retrieve the date/time from a server instead. Real easy if you
have a SQL Server or any server database then you can use a pass-through
query to get the current date/time from there. Otherwise I believe you
might be able to shell the NET TIME command and redirect the output to a
file and then parse the file to retrieve the result.
If I recall correctly you can't redirect output to a file directly from
shell, but you can create a batch file that does and then use shell to run
that.
