Generate unique barcode to unique ID

I am looking voor a database software tool which automatically
generates unique barcodes to each contact. I should be able to manage the
contacts by reading the barcode. The tools will be used to manage exhibitors
and visitors of a trade fair.

I am looking for soft- and hardware which could do the following :
- Manual input of exhibitors [database]

- Manual input of visitors [database]

- Export all visitor addresses and linked barcodes to a file in a
format that the printer can use to print the invitations.

- Generate an unique barcode per contact [contacts are sent an
invitation for a trade fair which contains their address and a unique
barcode]

- Barcode reading [after the fair, all used invitations are scanned.
I can then see whom visited the fair]

Any help would very much be appreciated.

A barcode in Windows is just a font. If you create a table with a Primary Key
and you display or print that value using a bar code font then you have a unique
bar code per record.

The easiest bar code scanners plug into your keyboard port and as far as Windows
is concerned the input is indistinguishable from a user typing on the keyboard.

You might want to do a google search on trade show/exhibit software.
Here's a hit I got http://www.traqit.com/products.aspx. You can always
call the companies you find and see how close they are to your
requirements. Maybe some mods can be made for you.
