Tree View File Browser

What is the best way to import a picture (bmp format) via VBA from a Windows
file and embed it into a Bound Object Frame (and thence to an OLE Object in
a table)?

I found an MS knowledge base article (205635) on the subject, but it uses VB
(CreateEmbed method) rather than VBA. I can't find any similar method in
VBA.

A couple of related questions:

1) I understand that BMP is the only common picture format that can be
embedded in an mdb table. JPG can't be used (although I saw somewhere that
Access might convert JPG to BMP and store BOTH formats, inflating file
size).

2) I would like to display a gallery of pictures in a form (or subform).
Each record would comprise an autonum PK, the picture object and a text
caption. Only the picture and caption would display. I can easily envisage
displaying one picture and caption per line by using the Continuous Forms
mode. However, I would like to display the pictures horizontally as well as
vertically, say 2-4 per line depending on size. Can this be done?

As usual, thanks in advance for all suggestions and advice.

Sorry about the Subject. I started writing a post, then changed it to a
different topic and forgot to change the header.
