File name in text export

P: n/a
Hello-
I have a problem trying to transfer text to a file. I need to include
periods (.) in the file name, but it keeps changing them to pound signs
(#). Here is what I have in the 'File Name' field:

="c:\38XW71.01.ADF.0001." & Format(Now(),"mmddhhnnss") & ".txt"

Expected output is:

c:\38XW71.01.ADF.0001.0420145231.txt

Actual output is:

c:\38XW71#01#ADF#0001#0420145231.txt

Does anyone know how to prevent access from converting these periods to
pounds?

Thanks in advance!!!

I doubt a Microsoft OS is going to like that kind of a name, since
periods are generally the delimiter between file name and file type...
You *might* try outputting it to a file with a "fake" name and then
using Name to rename it. At least then you can figure out what's
causing the error.

Works like a charm!!! However, it still bugs me that periods were
changed to pounds, but life goes on.

Thanks!!!
