conversion to 2003 and replication

hello....

I am getting this error on a replicated mdb when i try to convert the
mdb form 2000 to 2003.
This database is a replica created in a different version of access.
and
You can only convert by synchronizing with its design master.
and
Convert the design master of this replica set then synchronize with its
design master
The user did not replicate( another user did and is no longer here)
finding the original is not an option.
Is there a way to undo replication so I can procede w/ the conversion
process?

Any help would be appreciated..

jim
