Running Sum in a Subreport

I have a report with a subreport. In the subreport, I have a cell in a
group footer that is used as a counter (ControlSource = 1, Running Sum
= "Over Group".

When I run the subreport independant of the parent, the running sum
counts up and reset at the next major group.

However, when I run the same report as a subreport in the parent, the
running sum always equals 1. Is there a way of correcting this?

I would like to use this value as a condition to execute a section of
code OnFormat of the footer. (I want to force a page break every five
groupings).

Alex,

The running sum resets at every higher group level, in your case
probably the detail section of the main report. I haven't tried this,
but you may have to set up and update your own counter in the format
event of your subreport's group header or footer.
