DAO considered obsolete by MS

DFS
I'm sure this has been discussed here, and probably recently, but I noticed
it on the msdn website:

"DAO provides access to JET (Access) databases. This API can be used from
Microsoft Visual Basic®, Microsoft Visual C++®, and scripting languages. It
was included with Microsoft Office 2000 and Office XP. DAO 3.6 is the final
version of this technology. It will not be available on the 64-bit Windows
operating system."

I second your comment, Lyle, and cite from that page the following: "ADO.NET
is an evolutionary improvement over traditional ADO" -- an "evolutionary
improvement" that is built on a different object model.

No, Larry didn't write the referenced message... looks like Donny is at his
old impersonation tricks again.
