Hi. I have an Access2k sp3 database that is shared with a group of
users (it's on a network share). The database has grown to be about
1.3Gb and I want to compact it. I have tried to explain to the users
that compacting is a good (and necessary) thing and even added a
compact database button on the switchboard.
The problem is, that I keep getting an error "Could not use
'filename.mdb'; file already in use".
I tried to copy the .mdb to my c:\ drive, but I still get the same
error message. I keep searching for a rogue .ldb file but the only one
that gets created when I open the 'corrupt' file is the system.ldb file
in my msaccess.exe program folder.
thanks in advance for any assistance.
Paul
