It's called a junction table. Your tables should look like:
TblClass
ClassID
<Your other fields>
TblGrid
GridID
<Your other fields>
TblClassGrid
ClassGridID
ClassID
GridID
For data entry you need a form/subform. The main form is based on TblClass
and your subform is based on TblGrid. The LinkMaster/LinkChild is ClassID.
On the subform, you use a combobox based on TblGrid to enter the GridID
field.

Hello All!
We're developing some race software here. It's a desktop VB app that
interfaces with an underlying Access db. Currently, part of the system
design calls for a race Class to have multiple Grids. So we have two
tables, Classes and Grids, with a one-to-many relationship
respectively. We've just been told that the head honchos wish to have
the software be able to handle many Classes-per-Grid, in addition to
many Grids-per-Class (now, a many-to-many relationship). Does anyone
have an idea about how to set up a many-to-many relationship with the
keys of two tables?
Thanks.
