Phone Input Mask Not Working

P: n/a
Hi,

Our Tech department updated users to Office 2003 this week. Now the
input mask in one of the applications is showing up as:

(###) ###-###

The input mask wizard works correctly when I redo the mask. But in
form view, the mask appears reverts to the previous.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

John

Just a guess. Did you tell it to include the mask characters with the data
stored to the table? If so, then the field size needs to be 14 instead of
10. Also, you don't say what the error is, so I'm assuming that you are
talking about having only 3 #'s after the -.

After you make the change and go back to Form View and see the error return,
if you go back to Design View, what is shown for the input mask? Open the
table in design view, what is shown for the input mask for the field in the
table? Create another form and bind it to this form's record source. Add a
textbox for the phone field and add the input mask. Does this form behave?
If so, then you may have a corrupted textbox or corrupted form. Try the
textbox first, delete it and recreate it.

Hi Wayne,

I removed and readded the text box earlier and it did not help. I
ended up removing the mask. I will be converting the application to a
ColdFusion application anyway so I'm not going to spend too much time
on it.

Thanks.
