Windows XP SP2 atomatic delivery April 12

**** begin quote A ****
UPDATE: Time is running out! Please note that the mechanism to
temporarily disable delivery of Windows XP SP2 is only available for a
period of 240 days (8 months) from August 16, 2004. At the end of this
period (after April 12, 2005), Windows XP SP2 will be delivered to all
Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems.
**** end quote A ****

**** begin quote B ****
Windows XP SP2 includes MDAC 2.81.
**** end quote B ****

Will this affect some Access applications, [perhaps one using an Access
2000 no Service Packs base] or other applications using JET, ADO, OLEDB,
ODBC etc?

I don't know, but I wonder, particularly about one of my clients.

I've always wanted to see Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in the
spring. Monday April 11 may be a great time to leave.

Of course, one may be able to defeat this automatic update by turning
automatic updates off, or by choosing to manage ones own updates; I'm
not sure.

Is April really considered spring up there? I thought the ice didn't begin
to thaw until May ...

Looking out the three story igloo I work out of at Memorial University
of Newfoundland, there appears to be a hazy strange blue apparation
hovering over the cliffs which cuddle the harbour. Not sure what it is...

And there was me 2 weeks ago, snowed in for 1.5 days and couldn't get to
work (shame that <g>) and now it's been so warm this week the bike's out
of the garage.

Actually the ice is starting to thaw out of some of the lakes now on the prairies.
However up north in the NWT the ice won't leave until the beginning of June in some
places.
