Carry data over to new record

I need some help. How can I automatically fill my combo box in a new
record with data from previous similar record. My form has a option
group button with two check box. What I'm trying to do is that a user
will first select a record, then click the inactive check box, a new
blank record and I would like to automatically fill some combo box with
data from previous record. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
