Signing Own Database?

I have asked this question before, but then did not follow up on it.
I am using Microsoft Access 2003. When I try to open a database that
I have developed, I get a Security Warning from Microsoft Access
asking me whether I want to open the file or cancel the open. If I
request more information, Help tells me that I can add the publisher
to my list of trusted publishers. The real question is how do I add
myself to my own list of trusted publishers without going to the
length of getting a commercial certificate.

I realize that I could set the security level for Access to Low and
rely on Norton Antivirus rather than on signatures. I might end up
doing that. However, I would prefer not to have to turn off a useful
feature such as digital signatures (if it is a useful feature rather
than a nuisance).

You can create one locally using the Digital Certificate for VBA
Projects tool in Microsoft Office. You can then sign your code using
the Tools->Digital Signature function in the VBA IDE. When you next
open the database, you will be prompted to "Always Trust" this
signature. It should work for all projects you now sign with this
signature.

However, it will only work on the PC where the signature was created.
If you want it to work on multiple PCs, you need to buy a signature
from Thawte or someone else.

Done. Thank you.

Maybe I am being ignorant, but how do I get into the VBA IDE?

Thank you for any further help.

ALT+F11 - it's just the standard code window where you write your code
for the database.

Thank you. I just opened the database a second time, and it prompted
me as to the questionable signature, which I said to always trust. I
then opened it a third time, and it opened the database with no
issues. Thank you.
