Issues with updated Memp by SQL code. Keepo getting Error msg "Could not update; Currently Locked by session on this machine"

I am trying to update a memo field in a table from a form that I have
created. The form is unbound, and once the user makes their changes,
they have to click the continue button. Once the button is click
then, there is some VB code that uses SQL Update to take the
information on the form and update the table with the new changes.
However, I am having issues with the Memo fields. I have looked at
several different posts and have not been able to come up with a
solution. Can anyone offer any info at all?? The VB error code is
3188.

Cheers

Hi
there is a long history of posts with this error without any responses
giving a clear summary of the anwer(s), at least that I can find. The
error comes up only when the memo field is 2000-whatever in size or
larger. Answers usually concentrate on the field being bound in some
way to a form or control but I think it can occur also just as a bug
in Access, going back to A97.
If the field really is unbound, rather than using SQL have you tried
running the update by using AppendChunk in DAO? Code is fiddly but
there are examples in the A97 help file for example.
