How do you do a find on a range of Dates in a Date field from the find
dialog box?

Instead of find you can Filter for the dates by using the Filter for:
option. How?

On the form, datasheet, open table:
1) Right click on the date field.
2) To the right of the Filter for: option enter something like this:

between #1/5/05# and #1/31/05#

then hit the enter key.
