Reference problem

I have developed a Microsoft Access database program. It was done
originally in Access 2000.

I am having trouble now installing on some other systems, particularly
if they are using Access 2003/WindowsXP.

It seems that the Dim statement "Dim db as database" is not recognized
although I thought I was installing all the needed references.

Does anyone know what library this reference is in?

The Microsoft DAO 3.51 or 3.6 object library.

I looked at my references and found that I do employ DAO 3.6 Object
Library. It is at \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO.

I still can't figure out why the program can't use this "Dim db as
database" statement despite a proper reference.

If you're also referencing ADO then you need to explicitly declare DAO:

Dim db as DAO.Database

Other code could require such amendment too.

Do you use ado code at all? Generally, it's better not to mix DAO with
ADO. If you can, why don't you just refrain from using ADO and get rid
of the reference?
