Disappearing Database?

I wonder if any of you Access geniuses might be able to help me with a
problem:

We have a large COM based application (C++ and VB) that uses a single
Access mdb database to store data. What we are seeing is,
occasionally, the database file just goes away. Poof. Gone. It seems
to usually happen after a reboot, but we haven't been able to really
get it down to a set of repeatable steps. If it matters, most of our
code uses a C++ singleton to access the database so it usually remains
locked(?) with an ldb file as long as our app is running, but releases
it when our app closes.

Does anybody have ANY clue as to what might be causing this behavior?
We're kind of at a loss here and obviously, it really hoses our
software bad when it does happen. Any help at all would be much
appreciated.

Thanks.

Nevermind! Turns out this was caused by our wonky Installshield
project.
