Printer Devices

I have an application that needs to have a specific printer installed.
With win98 PC's I can check these by importing the [devices] section of
WIN.INI. Is there a way this can be done in WinXP. I do not need to do
anything other than to see if a particular printer exists.

You don't mention what verson of ms-access.

In a2002 and later, there is the printer object, and it can return a list of
installed printers.

If you have a older version, then you can use my printer swtich code here
which has a example on how to get all the printers:

Thanks for the method. Yes, I did forget to say that I am still using
Acc97.
