Show Column Number On Report?

I have a 4 column report and wondered if there is column number property.

I have more complicated uses for it but basically could I Have column number
shown at ctop of each column
1 2 3 4 < Column Number.
ABC DEF GHI JKL

Did briefly try programming a counter but can't find where to put
ColCount=ColCount+1, Always seems to be at end of page.
If you have more time what I am actually trying to do it print an address
book.
I want to print double sided alphabetically, Which I think is getting really
complicated.
e.g. 14 pages of A-Z with 4 columns on each. Landscape.
I anticipate printing pages 1-7 turn over and print 7 -14.
However they all need to be alternate so Col 1 on side one, Col 2 of reverse
of this (Side two), Column 3 on side one etc.
Printing pages 1 - 7 with alternate columns I hope will not be too bad.
However It then gets more awkward for pages 8 - 14 as when you turn page
over (Keeping page right way up)
it will infact the the 4th column side two opposite Col 1 side one, Col 3
Side two opposite Col 2 side one etc.

Somehow I am hoping if I can do a print preview & give each record a column
number I can do proper print in this rather odd order.

Thanks I/A
