"MSAccess.exe has encountered an error and needs to close"

pw
Someone was using our A97 product earlier in the day. He exited it,
and now can't open the application. He is all of a sudden getting
"MSAccess.exe has encountered an error and needs to close".

Any ideas how to resolve this? I tried sending him a new mde and
database but that didn't help.

Also, he tried to reinstall it and is getting (during setup) "Setup
could not open the file c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\DAO\DAO2535.TLB"

I couldn't find anything regarding either in the MS Knowledge Base.

Any ideas?

Sounds like that file is somehow locked.

Has he rebooted his system before that reinstall?

Thanks Tony. He did an uninstall and then reinstalled it and it works
fine now.
