Nesting Transactions with SQLServer 2000 and Access97

I am trying to use transactions in Access97 and SQL Server 2000. A
simplified version of the program I am writing in Access is as follows:

Begin Transaction
Begin Transaction
Import File in Tble1
Commit Transaction
Begin transaction
Merge Table1 and tble2
commit transaction
Commit Transaction

It seems that SQLServer will NOT allow me to nest transactions in this
way. Is this correct. Is my only choice to unnest the transactions?

In the above exmple, my transaction is controlled by the currentdb.
Would it make a difference if I set a variable equal to the SQL server
connection and tried to control the transaction that way?

Thanks!
Ryan
