Command Buttons

P: n/a
Is it possible to make command buttons in any color other than default
gray? And can you change the text with code ? In other words instead
of hard-coding the text on the button, can you display text which is
'situational' ? Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated !

From memory 'Caption' is the property you should change in
code to alter the text on a command button. Referring to
the button and it's caption property is the same as for any
other control. If you're in a form's own class module then
you can use Me!cmdButton.Caption if not then use the full
syntax Forms!FormName!ButtonName.Caption.
Do a search in the help for 'caption' and/or 'command
button'

AFAI can remember you can change colour by overlaying a gif
or jpg , then you have to mess about showing when the button
is clicked and keeping text visible. I haven't bothered to
try it since about Access2, maybe someone else has a
suggestion?
