Greg,
Have you tried a query that includes the various sources?
How about the DLookup function?

Jim,
The DMax seems like the solution I need to get my invoice number.
I want to get the highest invoice number from the Invoice table and
add one to it.
But, just to see how this works I'm forgetting about adding one until
I can pull the value from the table.
All the detail in my report is working fine.
I added a textbox to my report in the Report Header section.
I got the properties page for the textbox and put the following in the
control source property on the Data tab.
=DMax([INumber],[Invoice])
INumber is the field I want the maximum value for, and Invoice is the
table. There is data in the table.
When I run the report, it asks me to provide a parameter for the
values of both INumver and Invoice.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I found an example of DMax and appear to be doing it correctly.
When I use a function like Date() in the text box, I get the right
answer in the report.
Thanks a lot.
