Text Box Issues

I'm going to explain what it is I'm trying to do, maybe someone could
help me further. I have a form called Filing, inside the Filing form
is a Command button call substitute filing. When I click the button it
open up a new form called Substitute filing. I need the data from the
filing table into the substitute filing table. which I setup as combo
box but I do a text box call Submission Number; I want the submission
number text box to show the value from the filing table after I have
select which state and project name I want to do substitute filing for;
and I want to be add a new number to the existing one, for example the
original submission number might be 3 and I want the new submission
number in the substitute filing to be 3-1. How do I do it.
