Access97 crashes on Windows 2000 or Win XP

I have an application in Access97 which operates very normal on pc's
with
Win98 S.E. as an operating system. When I install the same application
on a PC
wich runs Windows 2000 Server (and Microsoft Access97) it crashes all
the
time without an error. There is no specific event which generates the
crash of
the application.It simply closes!

After weeks of searching I figured out that if none version of
Microsoft Office is installed on the PC running Win2000 or WinXP than
anything operates ok with my Access97 application.

I'm desperated.... :(
Any suggestions ????

That machine may be messed up. Rebuild it. At least that takes a
known quantity of time.
