Breaking Locks

P: n/a
Can anyone tell me how to break page locks? I update an MSAccess 2000
table using VBA. On rare occasions, and for no reason I have yet
discovered, updates do not occur. The following error is produced:
"Could not update; currently locked by another session on this
machine." (Error 3188)

Thanks,

Hi
If it is rare it may be a genuine case of locking, in which case see
http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl...news.indigo.ie

Also search this group on Google for other posts on error 3188 which
can be caused by various faulty things, eg with unbound forms or memo
fields, but in these cases the error is usually constant or common.

I've found the answer! It seems the error-handling in my vba code was
not robust enough, on occasion forcing execution to end in the middle
of a transaction. So to unlock the records I type
Workspaces(0).CommitTrans in the immediate window.
Hope this helps someone else!
