Web page locks

Hi
I have the business web page and the business Access databases on the
same server. The Access database is split front end and back end. The web
page is programmed with asp. It does use the tables from the Access
database. The problem is the web page locks frequently. I was told that when
I program the database with the forms and such (front end?) it locks the web
site, or something like that, and does not release the lock when I am done.
Is this the reason for the locking? How do I correct the problem. I am using
Windows XP sp2 and Office XP sp3.

If you are in the database via Access, no one will be able to open it via
the web page
Replicate the back end and use the replica on the web page. Synchronize the
two as
necessary when you know there is no one on the web page. I do this with
several
apps.
