VB6 and Access 2002

I am opening Access 2002 from a VB6 applicaton.

My VB code is:

Dim DBName as string
DBName = "C:\AccessDb.mdb"
Set MSAccess = New New Access.application
MSAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase DBName, True

My application closes without error at the line that
OpenCurrentDatabase. I have OnError error trapping in the code. I am
running VB6 SP6, MDAC 2.6 and Access XP. We just went from Access 97
to Access XP. I changed the VB references to Access 10.0. Any Ideas?

It appears that you have the New keyword listed twice on this line:

Set MSAccess = New New Access.application

Dim DBName as string
DBName = "C:\AccessDb.mdb"
Set MSAccess = New New Access.application
MSAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase DBName, True

VB.Net would slap your hand right away for that. VB6 was a great
programming platform for RAD, but VB.Net is even better.

Then, assuming you have all the correct references to the Access Object
library, I have had better luck invoking Access this way from vb6:

Dim AccObj As Access.Application
...
Set AccObj = CreateObject("Access.Application.10")
AccObj.OpenCurrentDatabase(...)

Even in VB.Net, still using CreateObject.
