fiscal year.

This isn't really an access question as I can write the code myself(I
hope) but need to know how the start of the financial year is worked
out. If someone knows the rules or an algorithm, I would be most
grateful.
In 2001, when the 1st April 2004 was on a sunday, the first (monday to
friday) week of the financial year was the 9th to 13th April.
In 2002, the 1st was on a monday and the first week was 8th to 12th
april.
In 2003, the 1st was on a tuesday and the first week was 7th to 11th
April.
In 2004, the 1st was on a thursday, and the first week was 5th to 9th
April.
In 2005, the 1st is on a Friday, and the first week is 4th to 8th
april.
In 2006, the first is on a saturday, and the first week is the 3rd to
the 7th April.
It looks to me as if the rule is that if the
1st Day Monday of first fiscal year week
monday 8th
tuesday 7th
wednesday 6th
thursday 5th
friday 4th
saturday 3rd
sunday 13th

Is this correct or are there other factors to consider? If anyone
knows the answer or where I might find the answer, again I would be
sooooooooooo grateful.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It would seem that you should think of the weeks in terms of all 7
days. And, judging from the dates you have indicated your fiscal week
starts on a Saturday and goes thru Friday and your Fiscal Year starts
on the First Saturday of April. Consequently, the first week of 2001 is
7 thru 13 April, 2002 is 6-12, 2003 is 5-11, 2004 is 3-9, 2005 is 2-8
and 2006 is 1st to 7th of April.
