Adding user-defined property to Access db

Hi,

Does anyone know how can I add a property to the db using ADO.NET?
I need to add a version to my DB. In DAO I added a property to the Database object, but here, I'm stumped.
I will be glad to recieve suggestions...

Thanks!

Hi
Probably not via ADO.
My first reaction was that you could do this without DAO by invoking
the item on the file menu from code, but this is too much of a pig's
ear for me to get working - it would probably require sendkeys or
mega-API programming to simulate sendkeys.
You can use DAO together with ADO, provided you disambiguate common
terms (eg DAO.recordset, ADO.recordset)

You need to use ADOX for data definition, not ADO.

Don't think you can use ADOX to add properties to a Jet database.

If you know different then please show us.

According to MSDN Database.CreateProperty is not supported by ADO(X).

You'll need to use DAO still I believe.

Oops. Read the "Database Object" as table, field, etc, but overlooked the
'version' part.

Yes, you do, there is no Jet Property Manager Support in ADO or ADOX or
JRO -- its DAO or nothing....
