Store output of selet query, impossible without re-running?

Used a regular "select query". Wanted to store the output, but can't
find any way of storing the output data to a new table. I had to spend
ages running the query once again, first selecting "make table" mode.
Any tricks? Tried SaveAs and Export was not availble as an option.

If the output was less than 65,000 records, I could have fixed it by
copying it to Excel - but it was more...

Jan-

I think what you are trying to do is run a select query multiple times
with different criteria each time......and save each query on its own.
If that is indeed what you are trying to do.....just click Save after
each run and Access will allow you to name the query whatever you want.
Then go back to the original select query.....run a new
query....save....name it.....and on and on.....

Why is Export not available? Are you using ADP? If so, you can try
Send To, Mail Recipient, then select Excel. It will save the result as
an Excel file and attach it to an email. You can simply double-click
on the attachment file and and save it where ever you want.
Good Luck

Don't want to save the query, but the output.

Export is not available (gray when using a select mode query), but if it
was less than 65,000 records (Excel limit) - it would fix the problem.

Tried Send to as XML, but then Access says use Export - but export is
not available. Then I tried RTF, but it is limited to a clip board size
of 65,000 records...oh...

Next time I run the time consuming query, I'll have a go at the mail to
as TXT, perhaps it will support more than 65,000 lines ;-)

if you really want to save it to a new table, you could just turn your
select query into a make table query and you're good to go. I think,
though, that it will create the same table, so overwrite the existing
one if you have one already. So make sure you have warnings turned ON
before doing it...

Yes, I know that I can re-run query by selecting Make table prior to
running it the 2nd time, and thus get a new table. But since it may take
10-20 minutes to re-run, I'm looking for a workaround. Usually I just do
copy and paste into Excel when there are less than 65,000 records. A
process taking far less than 10-20 minutes. But when it exceeds 65,000 -
I cannot use this trick to avoid re-running the query as Excel does not
not support more than 65,000 lines.

AFAIK, no, you have to rerun the query. Not sure what else to
suggest... I guess you could pass a query to a routine that returned
only a count of records and then went from there based on whether there
were more than 65K records or not... other than that, not a clue.
