scrolling listbox is slow

Dear All,

Scrolling a listbox having a large numbre of coloms and row is slow. Is
there a tric to speed it up?

Yup. Remove most of the items by having the user type something in a
textbox, then filter the list, then populate it. then since you don't
have nearly as many items, it'll speed up.

Listboxes are great, and I use them a lot - but usually only for a limited
number of items, not too many more than would be visible on scrren.
Consider using a combobox for more than 15 items.

Hm <frown> that would only postpone the delay until the user chooses to
dropdown (as opposite to: the user chooses to drop down :-) ) I
sometimes dedicate a subform to this.

But what is the enormous listbox supposed to do/offer?
