Combining Fields Question

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster...

My question is:

I am trying to combine records on a 2 column database that looks like this:

REFNUM ARCHITECT
00000004 Pennington, John
00000004 Spencer, David
00000009 Minneapolis Bridge
00000010 Guthrie, A., and

But I want it to look like this:

REFNUM ARCHITECT
00000004 Pennington, John; Spencer, David
00000009 Minneapolis Bridge
00000010 Guthrie, A., and

I have tried all avenues to do such a thing, as this database will be posted
to the web in a flat file database, and I don't want a
user to search a database and end up getting 2 matches for one refnum
because they have 2 different architects.

Any help would be appreciated!
