You or someone at the location would have to make a determination about what
criteria they would want the program to use to make the selections. Once
that is done, the programming "shouldn't" be to hard. The criteria will need
to be something that you can put into the database, such as where the
employees work and what the order relates to. You would then match these two
to send the order to the employee that works in that section. You would also
need to input a number for each employee or section (depending on which it
is relevant to) to indicate the number of orders the employee is capable of
handling. It is likely that you will have to collect more information than
you are currently collecting in order to have the data necessary to match
the orders to employees. Some other possible needs would be to assign
criteria to individual order items that indicate what section those items
would be handled by. You'll also need to determine how to handle orders with
items from more than one section.
Basically, what it comes down to is putting down in writing the criteria the
person who is currently manually making the selections is using to make
those selections. This is frequently easier said than done and frequently
will require compromises to get criteria solid enough (i.e. works the same
way every time) to program. If you've ever done flow charting, this would be
a good time to use that talent.

Hello everyone,
if someone would point me the right way of thinking on this problem it
would be greatly appreciated.
i have this scheduling form that loads the orders that are due for a
particular day. it also loads the employee's who are rostered on for that
particular day, and the employee's are assigned to a number of orders for
that day according to thier areas of work. all this is done manually by
having a combo box next to each order then selecting the employee.
my question is how would be the best way to have the system auto assign
the work according to who is rostered on each day and the number of jobs
they can do and thier preferred areas of work
any help or push in a general direction would be great
thanks guys
Lee-Anne
