Importing a CSV file; imports all but one field

Hi there,

I'm running access 2002 SP-2.

I'm trying to import a CSV file where everything except the last (end, and most recently added) field will import.

I can open the file in notepad, and it has data in that field.

Access has chosen the default data type as Double. (The data is: 00.000, or substitute '0' for any number)
There is only 19,000 rows, and it imports in seconds, but not that last field.

The field names match. The field data types match. I am using import specifications so it should throw up errors if there was an inappropriate data-type, or wrong field name.

I really am befuddled.

I would appreciate any light that people may be able to shed on this issue.

If there is any further information I can supply that will help please reply to this post.

Many thanks!!

Fraser.

Have you checked what the end-of-line character in the file is?
Notepad would probably render either CR or LF as a "New Line", but it might
be harder for Access...

I know this sounds dumb, but it has caught me before. Is it possible that when
you added the new field, you didn't change the import specs? Maybe the
database isn't looking for that field.
