VBA?

Wondering if anyone can help me...

I have a created a table with a tick box field in it for a large number of
records. I have also created a form and in the form is a Text Box and a
Command button ( please see http://webmonky.myby.co.uk/despatch.jpg ).

What I need when the command button is executed is for the Tick Box field to
be ticked for the order # (primary key) that was typed/scanned. All are
unticked by default.

If anybody could help me out I would be very grateful Thank You

Thanks,
Nick

Sorry....and also for a confirmation that order #1234 has been marked as
dispatched in a label or text box (see
http://webmonky.myby.co.uk/despatch.jpg ). Rather than a msg window because
orders would need to be scanned at a fast rate and without the despatcher
having to press enter all the time to close the msg window.

Cheers, Nick

Hi Nick

Perhaps something like :

CurrentDb.Execute "Update tblOrders Set Despatched = True Where OrderNumber
= & Me.txtOrderNumber & ";", dbFailOnError
Me.StatusListBox.AddItem "ORDER # " & Me.txtOrderNumber & " MARKED AS
DESPATCHED"

The AddItem listbox method is not available in earlier versions of Access.
If order number is a text field you will have to insert quotation marks
around Me.txtOrderNumber in the sql string.

Hi Joe,

Can't thank you enough mate cheers! Got it working fine after some
debugging.
Just one smaller problem, I have to press Enter twice to run the command,
and also is it easy to get the cursor to return back to the input box
(txtOrderNumber) once you have pressed enter?

Cheers!
