Importing Excel File with Range name taking so long while its in use

Hi Would anyone be able to help me?

Im trying to import an excel spreadsheet while its being used, using
he Docmd below

DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, 8, "PNL",
"\\swaps\EXCEL\PNLfix.xls", True, "Numeros"

this import is taking over 15mins to complete, would anyone have any
suggestions to speed this up or anything I can do to speed up the
process?
