Using web forms for data entry / querying and storing the data in
MS-Access tables. Presumably anything that works for this would not
be limited to MS-Access, but other DBMS's as well.
am I correct in assuming this?
does anyone have any recommendations on books that discuss how to do
this?
thank you for any help

Yes, that's pretty much true for basic stuff. You could design a set of ASP
pages to use Access (Jet) to store the data and if you decided to then
change the data store to SQL Server for example, the code would not need to
change a huge amount.
Having said that, it doesn't take too long before the coding diverges
because of differences in SQL, stored procedures, etc. You could try one of
the ASP newsgroups, but if you are starting from scratch, you might try
starting with ASP.Net which is radically different to ASP.
