from outlook TO access97

I have a front-end Access97 application which I have users routinely
with just a mouse-click and a password screen sends various reports to
customers. Since this works, I'm assuming, with MS outlook not being
officially opened as a running application (e.g.: DoCmd.SendObject
acSendReport, "Contract", acFormatRTF, _
"Ed********@mycompanyblahblah.com", ", me@anothercompanyblah",
,"MyReport", , False _)

My question: from my Access application, can I also receive emails
into the database. My goal is ti keep outlook closed most of the time
for the user to have Access serve as an active filter for spam. I
would have only email addresses stored in a table in my database able
to show up on my interface in Access.

Thanks all!

Yes. See the Outlook specific links at the Microsoft Access Email FAQ
