open form read only ?

Hi,

I need to be able to open a form and allow users to change a drop down (that
changes a subform) but doesn't allow them to change any data at all. They
need to be able to change the drop down (it is unbound)
any ideas?
Thanks
Al

Does the main form have any bound data? If not you only need to set the
properties of the subform (AllowEdits=False, AllowAdditions=False,
AllowDeletions=False).

Populate it anyway you like and as long as it's unbound no underlying data
gets changed. Which is what you have now unless there is something else you
haven't mentioned.

Thanks Eric,

I was 8/10ths of the way there but was doing the settings for the form
rather than the subForm.

Cool!
