Access 2000 Required registry information is necessary and this application cannot run. help needed

Came in one morning and found that the following message appeared only on
running Access 2000, then the program shuts down, all other office 2000
applications work fine.

"Required registry information is necessary and this application cannot run.
Please run setup to correct this problem"

I have trauled accross the deserts of the internet and tried some of the
registry fixes and have not been able to solve this problem.
A spark generated in my brain, not too bright!, and I have installed a dual
boot of win2000, and then installed the office2K . It all works fine in the
fresh install.
Compared the registry settings in uninstaller and found that their was no
product ID in the working registry, no reg company or reg owner sections in
working registry.

I am running out o fhair to pull out, any help appreciated , thank you.

Try looking at KB article 236590

"You receive a "Required registry information is missing and this
