Groupwise/Access

Hi,

I know there is already a plethora of emails regarding
Groupwise/Access problems but mine is slightly different to the ones
I've read about.

I'm trying to use the sendobject command to email reports to a list of
people.
Each person though should get a different report (each doctor should
receive the info of their own patients), so I've set a script that
loops around the available email addresses and each time attaches the
appropriate report (one for each doctor).

The problem is that even though the script seems to be running fine,
only the first person on the list will receive the email, while the
rest will not.
In order to send another email I have to close the application and run
it again!
Apart from that the format of the generated email is fine , which
implies that there must be no problem with the sendobject command.

Moreover I put a time delay betwen the sendobject commands being run
to allow some time to groupwise between sending emails, but still no
success.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

did you try Dmitri Furman's GroupWise class? I think his does all that for you.

I did and it works! There is still a slight problem though...

when I use this module, the sender is always shown to be the network
account user. I would like if possible to show another user instead. I
can only access this other account from File --> Proxy on Groupwise,
i.e. is not a real account that can login on systems. Even if I have
this account activated on Groupwise, the module it is still using the
one that has logged on the network...

I saw there is a proxy sub in the module, but I'm not sure what it is
for...

I hope I described it clearly enough! Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

The Proxy method is exactly for this scenario. After logging into
GroupWise using Login, call the Proxy method specifying the name of the
account/resource that should be the sender. You will need to have proxy
rights set up correctly. The easiest way to check that is to make sure you
can proxy and send from GroupWise client.

Perfect! I did try it but forgot to put the account name in quotation
marks!! Now it's working!!

ok this is the last question! I can see that the module can attach
files found on a hard drive, to the email sent. Is it possible to
attach reports from within the access database itself?

Thanks!

ok, I found the answer to my question. I use docmd.outputo to create a
rtf file with the report in question. Thankfully the file is
overwritten each time you create a new one.

Thank you all for your help in resolving this! It is going to be a
great help for my department (I hope so anyway!)
